I am a firm believer in publicly setting goals. Letting others know your goals provides a social pressure that motivates you.
My life-goal is to do a backflip on each of the 7 continents.
This summer I was able to backpack around the world, backflipping on 5 of the 7 continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and North America (with GoPro® footage to prove it). I just need to backflip on South America and Antarctica to complete my goal.
